Conor McNicolas [via Twitter], editor in chief of the NME, was in attendance and this to say:

"Damon salutes crowd. Track ends. All band move to shake front row's hands. Dave, "thank you for sticking with us over the years". It's over.

"So what's Glasto/Hyde Park going to be like? You know that perfect Blur gig in your head? Where just everything is right? It'll be like that
."

According to the Daily Star, Damon is a geezer...

Wow, that photo makes him come off as the twat Oasis insisted he was. :P

Our loverly Damon has been assisting the Magistrates with their album, as I have previously mentioned, by lending them his studio.

Singer Paul Usher told The Daily Star: “While recording, Damon came in and was like: ‘I need the studio back for half an hour to record a Gorillaz track’.”

OH... Wait... I'm thinking of the American usage of the word "geezer," which is an old man, particularly one who is either cranky or eccentric and its a rather derogatory term.

But I see that in the British equivalent of "dude". Like guy/bloke/person. Oh..... I have been enlightened! Next time I see "geezer" I'll think twice. :P

Sunday, Sunday here again

I just keep stumbling upon article after video after article! :)

Sunday Sunday

Lily Allen wants to cause a ruckus, as usual

Lily claims to be a fan of Blur, but she's convinced that her dad, Keith being good friends with Alex contributed to the group's "hiatus".

She says: "I think my dad made it hard for the rest of Blur because he was out getting f***ed with Alex and I think that probably annoyed them."

It is mentioned in 3682 Days that Alex's growing friendship with Damien Hirst and Keith Allen caused Graham to dislike him. And Damon wasn't too fond of them either, so there may be some truth in Lily's statement. But she has been known to steal the limelight, so take this with a grain of salt.

A sexy, sleepy feeling

Wow, life is good. ^_^

Beetlebum

Blur + New Order = Bad Lieutenant

I was let down, lead to believe it was like Damon, but its only Alex. Hopefully its a pleasant album anyways. :)

Werner Herzog’s version of Bad Lieutenant is due for release some time later this year, with Nicolas Cage filling the titular character. Perhaps mindful of this event, members of Blur and New Order have formed a band named Bad Lieutenant, and have recorded an album scheduled for release in October.

Bass player Alex James is the only Blur member present, and he’s clearly ready to capitalize on the big bucks generated by the band’s well publicized reunion this year. Perhaps James’ cheese making isn’t going so well? Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris join James in the lineup.

Sumner says he is “very proud” of the record. “It's pretty guitary too because we've got three guitarists in the band,” he told the BBC. A tour to support the album is expected to follow, while some high profile festival appearances are already being discussed for 2010.

Britpop Mojo scans!

I put it all in a .zip file to make it more convenient. :D

hip hip hooooray for scanners! :P

it can only be downloaded 10 times, so i suggest someone reupload it eventually.

Blur win Mojo award!

The Blur boys went to pick up the Inspiration award at the Mojo Honours List.

Phil Alexander, Mojo magazine's editor in chief, said: "Blur are the greatest band of their generation.

"They're one of the few bands that have inspired their heroes, as well as their peers and those that have come after them."

Boy, this song sure is mellow

As I start thinking about it, Blur must REALLY love us (their loyal Blur fans), because they could just rehearse silently then play a couple shows then be done with it. But no. We get sneak peaks so that our brains don't start dripping out of our ears in anticipation. :) Also, this song sounds the most like its recording, because it was on 13, and Damon started sounding more Gorillaz-y around that time.

Apparently we have 2 more videos to look forward to from the Guardian, and an interview with Blur on Saturday! :D

I'm in love with the moon, love you.

Mellow Song

Thank the Magistrates for getting Blur back together

Damon has been sprinkling his fairy dust on the Magistrates debut material, making sure it will be worth listening to. According to My Park Magazine, the band loves him, but find it difficult to please him. No shit, Sherlock. Your working with one of the most experienced men in the music business, hes not just gonna settle for a little poppy tune. You have to blow him out of the water, and you will have learned sooooo much after working with him, I guarantee.

But so anyways, guitarist Mark Brandon said: "We were in a room and Damon was dancing around just enjoying the music and just playing.

"He's a harsh guy. It was really inspiring to be around the guy, his working ethic is just unbelievable. He's a 100 per cent interested in making music - and that is really inspiring to be around.

"I remember when we were in the studio - the first time when he was saying, 'Yeah I'm thinking about calling the guys up'.

"Then literally a week later we were recording a song and he was like: 'Guess who I was with last night?' And I was like, 'Who's that?' He said that Graham Coxon had popped by and they had a late night."

Lead singer Paul Usher added: "I think the reason he got Blur back together honestly was because he spent some time with us and enjoyed the idea of being in a band again.

"We planted the seed in his head and he was like, 'Yeah you're right, that's a good idea'."

Now we HAVE to go buy their album... :P

Blur too busy for new album??

Graham has his solo albums in progress, Damon is finishing Gorillaz next album (rumored to be named Plastic Beach), Dave is studying to be a barrister and will run in the next general election as well. And little Alex is quite the cheese farmer lately...

Cross your fingers that they will find the time eventually to make an album, after they all have had their share of cheese, politics, primates and solo careers. :)

Graham has additional plans after Blur

Graham just released 'The Spinning Top,' is rehearsing with Blur for their reunion tour AND has ideas for his next album! "I'll have a new solo album sooner or later, I already have several songs stacked up," he told the Daily Star.

He is changing directions for this next album. "It's a completely different style. They sound more 2066 than 1966 this time" he said. Ah, one of the many things we love about Gra is his ability to transcend all genres. :)

Clash Music

Holding on for the concert

Blur release an uplifting video of their rehearsal of For Tomorrow. Enjoy the orgasmic amazingness. :)

For Tomorrow

Who would star as Damon?

While sorting through my Google Alerts I spotted a headline; BLUR: THE MOVIE.

I stopped dead in my tracks.

But after reading the article, I find it a bit hard to believe that "everyone in the Blur camp is really excited" because Graham doesn't like all that and Damon, above all, hates publicity fluff, but I'm profusely glad they've finally decided to reveal themselves. I'm really anxious to know who the director is (could it be Ceri Levy??). Thank goodness "there’s plenty of material to fit in" so that we don't have to watch some stupid actors prance about pretending to be Damon. I highly doubt the film will be disappointing us loyal Blur fanatics. :)

A few other articles of the same persuasion: Contact Music, The Sun.

Blur reunion videos that will make you shake, rattle and roll

After the life-altering announcement of Blur's return, aggravatingly short videos were released of their rehersal sessions. What more need I say?? :D
